Having a friend or family member perform your wedding ceremony is a way to make the ceremony more personal. It is an honor to be asked to perform a friend's wedding ceremony. I know, that's how I started in this business.

Performing a wedding ceremony is about more than saying the right words. It is about understanding how the elements of a ceremony fit together to create a wedding that the couple, and the guests, will enjoy. As I present a ceremony, I am in tune with the environment and the couple and the DJ and environmental distractions like loud airplanes flying overhead. All of these elements will cause me to change my delivery or pause to compensate as I deliver the ceremony.

Then there is the legal role of the celebrant that needs to be completed correctly. The celebrant needs to confirm that they are correctly ordained. They also need to help the witnesses complete the marriage license and deliver it to the appropriate government office. Yes! It can be overwhelming! My consultation service is a one-hour meeting with the couple and the celebrant-to-be. We discuss the structure of a wedding ceremony, what could work well, and the celebrant-to-be's comfort level. The goal is to set the stage for a smooth and enjoyable ceremony for everyone. I'll provide a couple of templates and some of my favorite readings to round out the package and get your friend or family member on their way to performing a great ceremony. I'll also provide e-mail support and a touch base meeting as we get closer to the ceremony date.
